THIRD GRADERS CHOICES:  There is no offering of band instruments to third graders in the school schedule; however, a student may begin study of a band instrument through private instruction.
 
FOURTH GRADE CHOICES:  Beginner Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn,  Trombone,  Baritone,  Percussion.

FIFTH GRADE CHOICES:  Advanced or 2nd year  Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn,  Trombone,  Baritone,  Percussion.

If you are a 5th grader and wish to begin playing a band (wind/brass/percussion) instrument, you will have practices in the mornings before school (8:30-9:10am) during August, September, October and November.  When you have learned all a fourth grader knows and have passed the appropriate playing tests, you will attend classes with the other 2nd year 5th graders. If you didn't sign up in fourth grade and wish to catch up faster, it is recommended you get private instruction/tutoring with specialist on that instrument.  See http://www2.hcpss.org/music/private.html
